Joseph P. Sammut is a professional engineer who created various innovation and automation solutions for different international clients. He has also conceived and developed the award winning, 30 million Euro Malta Life Sciences Park where he is the Chairman. He was a founding council member on the Malta Standards Authority, the Building Industry Consultative Council and the Malta Council for Science and Technology where he also was the Director of National Research Funds. He was also a Research Fellow at the University of Warwick supporting Technology Take-up Techniques in the UK aerospace enterprises, including AirBus, Rolls Royce and BAE, particularly to implement lean and innovative enterprise techniques.
